Zuckerberg buys 19th Century castle in Ireland estimated to cost between $23 million and $35 million

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg purchased a 19th Century Gothic-style castle in southeast Ireland, a spokesman said on Thursday.

Strancally Castle was built around 1830 on land overlooking the River Blackwater. It's located about 125 miles from Meta's European headquarters, NBC News reported.

The Irish state property price register doesn't list the transaction, but The Irish Times estimated the property to be worth between $23.4 million and $35.1 million.

Zuckerberg and his family are “excited to continue caring for this historic home and look forward to spending time in Ireland," the spokesperson said.
