DC Takeover: Here are the six states sending National Guard troops to Washington, DC
Louisiana on Monday became the latest state to announce its deployment of National Guard troops, with Republican Gov. Jeff Landry authorizing at least 135 troops to be sent to the capital.
Six Republican-led states have announced they are sending National Guard troops to Washington, D.C. to help the Trump administration reduce the city's high-crime rate.
President Donald Trump last week federalized the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department as part of the effort to cut down on serious crime in the capital. He also sent 800 D.C. National Guard troops into the city to help with security.

Here are the other states that are sending troops to Washington, D.C:
Mississippi: Gov. Tate Reeves, a Republican, said on Monday that his state will send 200 National Guard soldiers to the capital.
Ohio: The Buckeye State is sending 150 troops to Washington, D.C. in the coming days, per the Associated Press.
South Carolina: The southern state has pledged to send at least 200 National Guard troops to D.C. so far.
Tennessee: Gov. Bill Lee has approved sending approximately 160 troops to Washington to help with "monument security, community safety patrols, protecting federal facilities, and traffic control.”
West Virginia: The Mountain State has authorized the most amount of National Guard troops, with Gov. Patrick Morrissey committing between 300 to 400 troops to the district.
"We are a nation of law and order. Our capital is a reflection of our nation’s respect, beauty, and standards," Landry said in a statement. "We cannot allow our cities to be overcome by violence and lawlessness. I am proud to support this mission to return safety and sanity to Washington, DC and cities all across our country, including right here in Louisiana."
The deployments come after the Trump administration announced it has arrested over 300 people since taking over the city's law enforcement, including 160 undocumented migrants.
