Consumer prices increased in November at annualized rate of 2.7%, lower than expected

Consumer prices increased at an annualized rate of 2.7% in November, lower than expected, the Labor Department reported Thursday. 

The rate was lower than the projected 3.1% by Wall Street. 

The compilation and release of the report, by the department's Bureau of Labor Statistics, was delayed by the partial federal government shutdown earlier this fall.
