Consumer prices rose at annualized rate of 3.3% in March: federal government
The annual rate was the highest since April 2024.
Consumer prices in March were 3.3% higher compared to the same time last year, Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.
The rate last month increased 0.9% compared to February.
The increases last month were pushed by a 10.9% surge in energy costs, amid the U.S. war with Iran, which has disrupted the global energy supply.
The numbers were in line with the Dow Jones analysts, according to CNBC.
The annual rate was the highest since April 2024.
