Dow Jones clears 50,000 for the first time
The other major indices, the S&P 500 and NASDAQ, were up 1.75% and 1.87%, respectively.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) on Friday cleared 50,000 for the first time, marking a major milestone.
As of press time, the key index stood at 50,013.28, up 2.26%. The other major indices, the S&P 500 and NASDAQ Composite, were up 1.75% and 1.87%, respectively.
The surge and milestone are surely good news for President Donald Trump, whose approval ratings have stagnated amid voter dissatisfaction with the economy.
At present, Trump boasts a 40.7% approval rating on the economy in the RealClearPolitics polling average. A further 55.9% disapprove his stewardship on the issue.
