Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert verbally sparred Wednesday with pro-Palestinian protesters at George Washington University and appeared to try to remove a Palestinian flag from a statue.

"I had people proudly saying they are faculty and not wanting to remove a Palestinian sign from the George Washington statue," she said at a press conference held by congressional Republicans on the Washington, D.C., campus. "If they don’t want to do something to address this, well then kiss your federal funding goodbye."

Boerbert reportedly tugged at the flag draped over a statue of George Washington.

A person who identified themself as a faculty member told Boebert, of Colorado, the statue was not her property, which seemed to prompt her to walk away, according to Newsweek.
