A California farmer is giving away tons of nectarines that would otherwise rot because he's blocked from selling them while a lawsuit winds through the courts.

Cesar Mora, a third-generation farmer in Reedley, California, has been fighting a lawsuit filed against him by Giumarra Brothers Fruit Co. The company claims it has exclusivity over a variet of white nectarines and alleges Mora broke their contract by selling the fruit to other packers.

Mora accuses Giumarra of unfair and fraudulent business practices, the Associated Press reported

Unable to sell the fruit he produced, Mora is giving away the nectarines. Hundreds have come to his farm in central California for the offering. Between Monday and Friday, he'd given away 100,000 pounds of nectarines.
