Florida Senator Rick Scott cites Fauci texts on vaccines: 'This is DISGUSTING'

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla. is speaking out against Dr. Anthony Fauci after texts released Monday revealed he apparently knew there was a risk of miscarriage to women taking the COVID-19 vaccine.

“This is DISGUSTING,” Scott wrote on X. “Fauci KNEW that the COVID vaccine was a potential risk for pregnant women, yet he kept Americans in the dark about the risks. One of the risks included the possibility of a MISCARRIAGE in the first trimester. We need to hold Fauci accountable NOW!”

The Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, on which Scott sits, passed a contempt of Congress resolution last week to authorize the President of the Senate to certify the committee’s report regarding Fauci’s refusal to answer questions before the committee. It asks for the matter to be referred to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia for him to be prosecuted.

The resolution would require a full vote from the Senate.

“Fauci’s total mismanagement and lack of transparency have destroyed trust in public health and left moms scared to death of getting the vaccine or giving it to their kids, and I can’t blame them!” Scott said Tuesday afternoon. “Thank you, Sen. Ron Johnson, for your work to uncover Fauci’s texts so we can know the truth.”

The texts from January 2021 show Fauci voice concerns over potential miscarriage risk in the first trimester to pregnant women who take the second dose of the COVID shot. However, he publicly said in February 2021 that there were “no red flags” for pregnant women.

In that same text thread, Dr. Vivek Murthy responded saying he’d been hearing concern about the mRNA causing mutations in developing fetuses.

Despite the concerns, Fauci publicly doubled down in August 2021, saying there was “no indication whatsoever” of any increase of adverse issues in pregnant women who receive the shot.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier called the latest revelation “unbelievable.”

“Pregnant women were told it was safe! How many women lost babies due to Dr. Fauci's lies?” the attorney general wrote on social media.

Uthmeier has already subpoenaed Fauci as part of Florida’s own investigation into whether the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director used his position for personal gain during the pandemic.
