As the 2026 campaign comes to a close, Gov. Josh Shapiro and Lt. Gov. Austin Davis kicked off a statewide bus tour this weekend.

Starting on Saturday, Shapiro and Davis are spending the final 10 days of the campaign traveling across the state to rally support for candidates up and down the ballot for the Nov. 3 election, visiting 29 counties.

“During the bus tour, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor will be rallying support and working with local leaders and communities all across the Commonwealth to mobilize Pennsylvanians to make their voices heard in this election,” the Shapiro campaign said in a press release. “Throughout this race, momentum and support for the Shapiro-Davis campaign has continued to grow — and with this bus tour, the Shapiro for Pennsylvania campaign is going to continue showing up, bringing people together, and fighting to earn every vote all across Pennsylvania.”

The 29 counties that Shapiro and Davis will visit include a mix of rural, suburban, and urban regions. Some of these counties are solidly conservative and voted for both President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election and backed the GOP candidate for governor, state Sen. Doug Mastriano, in 2022. Those 14 red counties where Shapiro and Davis will visit include: Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Columbia, Crawford, Huntingdon, Lancaster, Mercer, Pike, Schuylkill, Somerset, Union, Westmoreland, and York.

The other 15 counties on the tour include areas where Shapiro and Davis won in the 2022 election: Allegheny, Beaver, Berks, Bucks, Centre, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Erie, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery, and Philadelphia.

However, six of those counties – Beaver, Berks, Bucks, Cumberland, Erie, and Monroe – voted for Shapiro in 2022 and Trump in 2024.

Shapiro and Davis, who were elected governor and lieutenant governor, respectively, by 17 points in 2022, are facing Republican State Treasurer Stacy Garrity and running mate Jason Richey in this year’s election.

Garrity, who earned a second term as treasurer in 2024, also won a majority of those counties that Shapiro and Davis are visiting on this tour. During Garrity’s successful bid for a second term, she broke a statewide vote record, previously held by Shapiro.

However, Shapiro is widely viewed as the favorite in the race. In addition to a massive fundraising advantage throughout the cycle, Shapiro has consistently led Garrity by double digits in nearly every poll.

Despite Pennsylvania’s status as a battleground state, national ratings outlets have described the race as “solid Democratic.”
