The texts were sent by Democrat candidate for Virginia attorney general Jay Jones
In Thursday night's Virginia gubernatorial debate, Democrat nominee Abigail Spanberger had to be asked four times to clarify whether she still endorses Democrat nominee Jay Jones for attorney general – following revelations about violent text messages he sent. WATCH HERE
The messages, which surfaced Oct. 3., include one in which he wished death upon former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert and his family, according to The Daily Signal.
Jones has apologized for the 2022 texts but has not dropped out of the race.
The GOP nominee in the race, with the election in early November, is Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears.
