Wildfires spreading in Spokane County leading to evacuations

Emergency officials warned residents in Spokane County to leave their homes immediately as crews battled the blaze, which spread quickly in hot, dry and windy weather.

Fire agencies boosted staffing levels and deployed additional engines and equipment as elevated fire danger continued across the Inland Northwest. 

Forecasters warned that gusty winds and low humidity could fuel rapid fire growth on Sunday, complicating containment efforts.
