WEF leaders 'terrified' AI could benefit Trump in 2024: Law Professor Carl Czabo
Szabo said that the WEF stance on artificial intelligence is all about control.
George Mason University Internet Law Professor Carl Szabo on Thursday asserted World Economic Forum leaders fear artificial intelligence could aid former President Donald Trump's reelection efforts.
"It scares the heck out of people at Davos," Szabo said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "They are terrified that artificial intelligence will be the reason Donald Trump wins in 2024. Just like social media was the reason that Donald Trump won back in 2016."
During its annual conference in Davos, Switzerland, speakers at the World Economic Forum expressed concern about "AI-generated misinformation."
Some raised concerns about that politicians exploiting the technology, "distribution patterns over social networks," and the verification challenges for media companies, according to Bloomberg.
"This really terrifies the folks over in Davos... the kind of intellectuals who are over there telling us how to live our lives such as telling us not to buy cars, or go on airplanes and eat bugs," Szabo said "With artificial intelligence, they're absolutely convinced it will be the 'but for' cause as to why Donald Trump exceeds and successes into the White House in 2024."
He further contended that the WEF sought to exert control over the technology.
"That's why you're seeing governments from across the world, including here in the United States of America, trying to decide what can and can't be done with this technology and who can and can't innovate," Szabo said.
