Consumers who would like to apply for a $20 settlement payment from Apple, which agreed to a $95 million settlement over claims that its voice assistant, Siri, eavesdropped on client conversations, can now do so through an online portal.

The multi-million-dollar settlement was reached in January, over allegations that stem from 2021, that Siri listened to private or confidential conversations that were then shared with third-party businesses and used to help cultivate interesting ads for the users on Safari or its Apple Search.

The company has not admitted any wrongdoing, but agreed to pay the settlement to end the lawsuit.

The settlement will be available to any person who owned a Siri-enabled iPhone or other Apple devices between Sept. 17, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2024, and "experienced an unintended Siri activation during a confidential or private communication."

The maximum settlement a person can receive is $20 per Siri-enabled device, but that means an individual can receive $60 if they have three Apple products, like an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, per CBS News. It is not clear when the payment will be sent out, but a final hearing on the matter is scheduled for August.

Apple customers who would like to file a claim can do so here

Eligible consumers should have received a letter in the mail or an email that notified them they were eligible, along with a claim code. But if someone did not receive a notice, they can still fill out the information in another tab of the portal that proves they have an eligible device from within the timeframe.
