Trump Media joins the AI race with Perplexity partnership

The Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) on Wednesday announced that it had partnered with Perplexity to begin testing an AI search feature for Truth Social.

"We’re proud to partner with Perplexity to launch our public Beta testing of Truth Social AI, which will make Truth Social an even more vital element in the Patriot Economy," TMTG CEO Devin Nunes said in a press release. "We plan to robustly refine and expand our search function based on user feedback as we implement a wide range of additional enhancements to the platform.”

Truth Search AI is currently available on the web version of the social media platform and is expected to soon debut on the Android and iOS versions.

The partnership with Perplexity makes TMTG the latest social media platform to embrace AI features, following X, which introduced Grok, an AI chatbot feature for premium users under Elon Musk.

Other platforms, such as Gab, have begun to introduced AI-powered features as well.
