Sen. Adam Schiff this weekend warned that President Donald Trump would "subvert" the 2026 midterms and attempt to overturn a hypothetical Democratic victory in November.

Schiff, a leading proponent of the now-debunked Russia collusion hoax, argued that the recent FBI raid on a Georgia election hub in connection with a criminal probe of the 2020 presidential contest, suggested that the president would advance similar election fraud claims in the event of a midterm defeat.

“We saw him try to the point of insurrection to overturn the 2020 election. We see him now taking these extraordinary steps with an election now years ago," Schiff said Sunday on ABC. "He’s basically telling us he intends to interfere in this coming — upcoming election."

Last month, the FBI raided a Fulton County election hub and seized ballots from the 2020 election. The details of the probe remain unclear. Schiff suggested that Trump would expand his use of federal power to interfere in the next election.

“I think [Trump] intends to try to subvert the elections. He will do everything he can to suppress the vote,” he also said.

His remarks follow White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt declining to rule out the possibility of ICE agents lingering near election polls during the midterms.
