Appeals court rejects contempt finding against Trump admin for deportations to El Salvador jail
Boasberg alleged that the Trump administration used the Alien Enemies Act to get illegal migrants out of the country before their removal could be challenged in court.
An appeals court on Friday rejected a judge's contempt finding against President Donald Trump's administration regarding mass deportations to a prison in El Salvador.
The decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit reverses a decision by U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, who argued that probable cause was present for the administration to be held in criminal contempt, according to The Associated Press.
Boasberg alleged that the Trump administration used the Alien Enemies Act to get illegal migrants out of the country before their removal could be challenged in court.
The administration denied the allegation.
