President Donald Trump's name was removed from the Kennedy Center on Saturday afternoon, but now a tarp is covering the new signage that will replace it.

Matt Floca, executive director and chief operating officer of the performing arts venue, told a federal court that the board of trustees had removed any signage that renames the center after Trump, WTOP News reported

Visitors on Sunday gathered on the plaza in front of the center after the removal only to find that a tarp covered the scaffolding that had been erected to complete the removal work.

A federal judge on Friday rejected a bid from the Kennedy Center to pause the order, ruling that "issuance of a stay pending appeal would not be in the public interest, which is rarely served by the ‘perpetuation’ of ‘unlawful’ governmental action."
