Rapper Nicki Minaj claims she's 'probably' Trump's 'number one fan'
Minaj made the comment at the Treasury Department's summit that launched the president's “Trump Accounts” for newborn babies.
Female rapper Nicki Minaj told a Washington, D.C., audience Wednesday that she was "probably" President Donald Trump's biggest fan and that her support for him will not change even if she gets hate for it from critics.
The comment is just the latest example of the Grammy-nominated artist's support for the president. She told Erika Kirk last month at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest that she has the "utmost respect and admiration" for Trump and previously applauded the Trump administration for its work supporting Christians in Nigeria.
Minaj appeared with Trump on Wednesday at the Treasury Department's summit that launched the president's “Trump Accounts” for newborn babies.
“I will say that I am probably the president’s number one fan,” the “Super Bass” rapper said. “And that’s not going to change. The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.
“We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him and the smear campaigns," she continued. "It’s not going to work, OK? He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him."
Trump said that he is also a fan of Minaj, who he called the “greatest and most successful female rapper in history," and thanked her for her donations to the "Trump Accounts."
"I just think she's great," he said of the 43-year-old. “I didn’t know Nicki, and I’ve been hearing over the years she’s a big Trump supporter, or Trump fan. She took a little heat on occasion because her community isn’t necessarily a Trump fan."
