President Donald Trump has arrived in Alaska for his Friday summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The meeting is taking place in Anchorage and is expected to cover the topic of the Ukraine War, as well as the future of Russo-American relations. The official Rapid Response 47 account posted footage of Trump's plane touching down.

Trump himself is expected to greet Putin upon his own arrival, The Associated Press reported. The meeting has attracted criticism from pro-Ukraine voices and concern from European leaders.

Trump spoke with European heads of state ahead of time and promised he would not negotiate territorial matters during the summit. Russia formally annexed four Ukrainian provinces in 2022 after annexing Crimea in 2014.

It doesn't fully control any of the four 2022 disputed territories, though it does possess the majority of each.
