Trump considers military strikes on al-Qaeda affiliated group in Mali: report
The militant group, whose full name is Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin, is the most well-armed militant group in the region and among the most powerful in the world.
President Donald Trump is considering military action against an al-Qaeda-affiliated group in Mali.
If the plan is approved, it would be the eighth country Trump has ordered strikes against in his second term, the Washington Post reported, citing unnamed sources.
The militant group, whose full name is Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin, has launched attacks against West African nation, and it's the most well-armed militant group in the region and among the most powerful in the world.
Senior officials in the Trump administration aren't fully in agreement on the strikes, and the White House wouldn't disclose if any such plans were in the works.
