Trump locks down top GOP leadership endorsements as House Whip Emmer backs him
"It’s time for Republicans to unite behind our party’s clear frontrunner, which is why I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President,” Emmer wrote in a statement posted to X.
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., endorsed former President Donald Trump for 2024, meaning Trump has locked down support from the top five members of House GOP leadership.
“Democrats have made clear they will use every tool in their arsenal to try and keep Joe Biden and his failed policies in power," Emmer wrote in a statement posted to X on Wednesday.
"We cannot let them. It’s time for Republicans to unite behind our party’s clear frontrunner, which is why I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President,” the statement continued.
Trump has also gotten the endorsements of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., National Republican Congressional Committee Chair Richard Hudson, R-N.C., and House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y.
Scalise endorsed Trump on Tuesday, saying that he looks forward to working with him to help families struggling under Biden's policies.
