Trump prime-time speech on Thursday expected to be 'potpourri' of issues: report
Though Trump is known for regularly engaging reporters, he hasn't given many prime-time speeches from the White House directly in front of cameras.
President Donald Trump offered no details about his "Speech to the Nation" on Thursday, but among the issues he's expected to discuss are the situation in Iran and the election-security measure, the SAVE America Act.
A senior advisor told Axios that the speech will be a "potpourri" of current issues. Though Trump is known for regularly engaging reporters, he hasn't given many prime-time speeches from the White House directly in front of cameras.
The advisor said that Trump is planning to give more speeches, as they are "powerful" and give a sense of importance to what's being said.
The speech comes as hostilities in Iran have resumed, and Trump is expected to address the situation in the Middle East. He is also expected to discuss the SAVE America Act, which would create photo ID requirements in federal elections. The advisor denied reports Trump will discuss the 2020 Senate elections in Georgia.
The speech begins on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
