Trump arrives in Beijing to red carpet welcome including military honor guard and band

President Donald Trump touched down Wednesday in Beijing for his summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. 

The arrival is the only public event on the president's schedule on Wednesday. He will have multiple meetings with Xi on Thursday and Friday. 

Trump and the U.S. envoy were greeted by Chinese officials during an elaborate welcoming ceremony that included about 300 Chinese youths waving U.S. and China hand flags, a military honor guard and a military band, according to the Associated Press. 

Son Eric Trump and wife Laura Trump as well as American billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk were part of the entourage that departed from Air Force one.
