Trump to refurbish bottom of Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool with 'American flag blue' color
Trump said the project will take about a week and cost approximately $1.5 million.
President Donald Trump told reporters Thursday that his next renovation project will resurface the bottom of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
The new surface will be the "latest and greatest filament" and have an "American flag blue" color, the president said, CBS News reported.
Trump said the project will take about a week and cost roughly $1.5 million. Contractors have begun working on the stone flooring beneath the surface, and they will begin working on the surface itself on Thursday.
"You're going to end up with a beautiful, beautiful reflecting pool, the way it's supposed to be. Much better than it ever was, actually," Trump said.
The pool was built in the 1920s and received a renovation in 2012, which cost $34 million. The funding was part of former President Barack Obama's stimulus funding. The National Park Service has done some minor work since then.
