Trump says 'agitators' at Minnesota church 'are professionals,' calls for probe into Walz, Omar
"They are troublemakers who should be thrown in jail, or thrown out of the Country," President Trump said
President Trump said Tuesday the "agitators" behind the disruption this past weekend of a Minnesota church service are "professionals" and called for investigations into Gov. Tim Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar.
On Sunday, protesters disrupted the service at a church in St. Paul because they believed the pastor had ties to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
"Just watched footage of the Church Raid in Minnesota by the agitators and insurrectionists," Trump posted on Truth Social. "These people are professionals! No person acts the way they act. They are highly trained to scream, rant, and rave, like lunatics, in a certain manner, just like they are doing.
"They are troublemakers who should be thrown in jail, or thrown out of the Country. The first to go should be Walz, and Fake Sleazebag, Ilhan Omar, who is supposedly worth over $30 Million Dollars, even though she’s never had anything but a Government job. Investigate these Corrupt Politicians, and do it now!"
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said that the Civil Rights Division was investigating potential violations of the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which provides similar protections church-goers, to prosecute the protesters.
Minnesota has become a focal point in the Trump administration's illegal immigration crackdown. Earlier this month, an ICE agent fatally shot a Minneapolis motorist, Renee Good, who drove toward him when she was leaving a demonstration to block an ICE operation.
In an online video of the church incident, protesters seem to be chanting "Justice for Renee Good" inside the sanctuary at Cities Church as the service began.
