Trump says many world leaders wrote him letters after attempted assassination
"They wrote me....almost all of them wrote me notes," Trump said.
Former President Donald Trump said during his Michigan rally on Saturday that many world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, wrote him letters following the attempted assassination on his life last week.
"I got along very well with President Xi," Trump said. "Great guy.....wrote me a beautiful note the other day when he heard about what happened.....most of the leaders did."
He said that while many of the world leaders didn't like how he interacted with them during his administration, they knew "the jig was up."
Last weekend, Trump was almost assassinated during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was rapidly escorted off stage afterwards.
"They wrote me....almost all of them wrote me notes," Trump said. "It was nice."
Trump then slammed the press for criticizing him for getting along with world leaders, saying that it was important that he gets along with leaders like North Korea Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un so Americans would be safe.
"Right now we have really low IQ people in there (the White House)," Trump said.
