Trump questions whether far-left using anti-Israel protests to distract from southern border
Anti-Israel protests have erupted all over college campuses where many students have set up encampments and refused to leave.
Former President Donald Trump suggested Wednesday that left-wing activists had used anti-Israel protests on college campuses in order to distract from the crisis at the southern border.
"Do you think that the Radical Left Lunatics that are causing all of the CHAOS at our Colleges and Universities are doing so in order to take the FOCUS away from our Southern Border, where millions of people, many from prisons and mental institutions, are pouring into our Country?" Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.
Anti-Israel protests have erupted all over college campuses, where many students have set up encampments and refused to leave.
Columbia University, in particular, saw New York Police Department officers on Tuesday clear out protesters who remained in Hamilton Hall despite pleas from university officials to vacate the premises.
Trump has highlighted the situation at the southern border throughout his 2024 campaign. More than 189,000 migrants arrived at the southern border just in the month of February.
Other GOP elected officials, such as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, have predicted that the border won't be secure unless America elects a new president.
