U.S. Air Force major arrested at Capitol while calling for Trump's impeachment

Watson was allegedly demonstrating on the Capitol steps, which is against the law unless the demonstrator is with a member of Congress.

U.S. Air Force Maj. Jason Watson was arrested Wednesday at the U.S. Capitol while calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Watson was allegedly demonstrating on the Capitol steps, which is against the law unless the demonstrator is with a member of Congress, the Washington Times reported.

Watson was initially accompanied by Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, after an impeachment press conference hosted by the Removal Coalition, a grassroots organization dedicated to removing Trump from power.

When Green left the area, police told Watson to end his demonstration, or he would be arrested. Police say Watson refused, so they arrested him.

“For the past 18 months, we the people have allowed the highest levels of the executive branch of the federal government to violate our Constitution and their oath to it with impunity,” Watson said at the press conference.
