Chuck Grassley joins TikTok
Grassley's post appeared to reflect an increased willingness from GOP lawmakers to embrace TikTok after the sale.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has joined social media platform TikTok, becoming the latest lawmaker to embrace the short-video-based platform after a sale that separated it from Chinese parent company ByteDance.
The post focused on Grassley's now defunct vacuum cleaner "Beth," and featured a series of images and the old-fashioned vacuum cleaner. The model is a Hoover Concept Two from the 1970s and featured an external debris bag.
Accompanying the video was the song "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, a 2015 single. The decidedly modern music stood in sharp contrast to the age of the defunct vacuum cleaner.
