Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, appears poised to struggle in her reelection bid, but only depending on the outcome of the Democratic primary.

Collins has long managed to hold her seat as a Republican in a state that hasn't voted red at the national level in decades. But that may change if she faces Graham Platner, a recent survey has shown.

Platner leads Collins 48.6% to 41.8% among likely voters in the latest Quantus Insights survey. Should she face Gov. Janet Mills, D-Maine, however, Collins would lead the race 44.6% to 43.0%.

Platner currently leads the democratic primary race, earning 43.3% support to Mills's 38.0%. A further 18.7% were undecided, however, making the race anybody's game.

Conducted March 3-5, the survey questioned 800 likely voters.
