Epidemiologist uses declassified documents to challenge Fauci on COVID origins, vaccine safety
Amid a multi-state legal push demanding criminal investigations, McCullough Foundation epidemiologist Nicholas Hulscher cites declassified intelligence documents to allege a pandemic cover-up and warn of mRNA vaccine dangers
Following a series of criminal referrals filed against Dr. Anthony Fauci in at least seven states, epidemiologist Nicholas Hulscher is accusing the former NIAID director of funding the deliberate creation of COVID-19, while claiming that the mRNA vaccines created to prevent the infection in human are fundamentally altering human genetics.
Nicholas Hulscher, epidemiologist and administrator at the McCullough Foundation, told Just the News, No Noise on Tuesday that Fauci, as NIAID director during the pandemic, “knew 100%” that the COVID-19 virus originated in a laboratory, dismissing the idea that Fauci genuinely believed the virus had naturally originated from bats.
Hulscher cited the declassified documents by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence that were released in mid-June detailing Fauci’s role in discussions on viral research, indicating that the U.S. government had funded 120 biolabs in 30 countries and detailing Fauci’s communications with U.S. intelligence officials investigating the origins of COVID.
The documents also restate that U.S. funding from Fauci’s agency, NIAID, had flowed through a nonprofit called EcoHealth Alliance to fund coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, in China, from which the virus likely leaked, according to some agencies within the U.S. intelligence community.
Hulscher said that the documents confirm that Fauci, in fact, funded so-called gain of function activities with taxpayer dollars to the lab, which resulted in "a man-made pandemic that killed millions.”
Gain-of-function research involves genetically altering an organism to give it new or enhanced biological traits, which is seen as controversial since creating transmissible deadly pathogens in a lab could carry the risk of accidental exposure. While scientists justify gain-of-function techniques for accelerating vaccine development and studying pandemic preparedness, the practice sparks intense debate due to severe biosafety and biosecurity risks.
Hulscher further said that the documents released prove Fauci lied to Congress, referring to Fauci’s statement under oath during a congressional hearing in 2024, in which he said that "according to the regulatory and operative definition of P3CO, the NIH did not fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”
Fauci has also argued that the bat coronavirus research conducted at the lab was standard and routine scientific practice to anticipate future pandemic threats.
“That is a verified perjury that’s up to five years in prison, and he’s 85 years old, so that could actually be a life sentence,” Hulscher said. Fauci was preemptively pardoned by President Joe Biden before he left office.
Hulscher said there could be other ways to prosecute Fauci, such as the Biological Weapons Convention negotiated by member states of the United Nations, a disarmament treaty that bans biological and toxin weapons by prohibiting their development, production, acquisition, transfer, stockpiling and use.
However, the Biological Weapons Convention is largely considered toothless as when a country is suspected of violating the treaty, the only recourse is to petition the United Nations Security Council — often leading to political deadlocks.
“Remember, hundreds of thousands and millions were killed elsewhere by the synthetic laboratory-made virus,” said Hulscher. Estimates from the World Health Organization (WHO) show that the death toll associated directly or indirectly with the pandemic between January 2020 to December 2021 alone was around 14.9 million.
Beyond the convention, Hulscher noted that investigations are also being pursued at the state level.
The Vires Law Group, a Florida-based firm, has filed several petitions and motions in at least seven states demanding that district attorneys and state attorneys general investigate Fauci and other federal health officials over their COVID-19 pandemic response.
Hulscher also discussed the resurgence of cancer and attributed it as an outcome of COVID vaccines, citing three peer-reviewed papers he published indicating that mRNA shots are “gene-altering technologies.”
He cited a study demonstrating genomic integration of mRNA vaccine genetic material in a stage four bladder cancer patient, whom Hulscher said has received three mRNA boosters, as well as a paper in American Physicians and Surgeons Journal finding that COVID vaccines “disrupted fundamental transcriptomic programming of the cells in human beings.”
“Not only do they disrupt and change the gene expressions, or what's called the transcriptomic programming of humans for the worse, it actually disrupts thousands of critical genes, including tumor suppressor genes…those are literally turned off,” said Hulscher.
Meanwhile, other international health organizations like Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance continue to maintain that “mRNA does not enter the cell nucleus, where DNA is stored, while the vaccine-produced protein is expressed only transiently before being cleared from the body.”
The US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the US government's National Institutes of Health (NIH), funded the US-based EcoHealth Alliance, the organization which collaborated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, awarding a grant in 2014 to look into potential coronaviruses from bats.
EcoHealth received $3.4 million from the NIH, while a subset of it, $600,000, was given to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The five-year grant was then pulled by the Trump administration in 2020 after the outbreak of the pandemic.
