Billions of login credentials leaked online, compiled in datasets: report

Billions of login credentials were leaked and consolidated into datasets online for criminals to obtain, according to a report from researchers at cybersecurity outlet Cybernews.

The Associated Press noted that the report revealed 30 of the leaked datasets included about 16 billion login credentials for platforms such as Google, Facebook and Apple.

The report said there are likely duplicates in the datasets so it’s "impossible to tell how many people or accounts were actually exposed.”
