Democratic PAC seizes on Texas redistricting to fundraise
Control of the House is up for grabs and even a small advantage could prove pivotal toward a GOP hold or a Democratic pickup.
Texas's possible redistricting effort has Democrats livid amid fears it could cost them House seats in the 2026 midterms, and one PAC hopes to turn the issue into a cash cow.
The House Majority PAC hopes to raise roughly $20 million through its "Lone Star Fund" to fight races in redrawn districts should Austin move forward with plans to change its congressional maps, The Hill reported.
State legislators will mull alternative maps as part of a special session and some hope that the Republicans could gain as many as 5 seats in the process. Ohio will also redraw its maps, potentially helping Republicans make gains in that state.
