Dems rip Fetterman after WSJ report on his time in office

Democrats are livid with Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., after a Wall Street Journal report on his time in office cast him in a negative light.

The Wall Street Journal report highlighted Fetterman's tendency to skip committee meetings, avoid meetings with constituents, and his unwillingness to participate in formal events. The story notably featured his refusal to attend a police funeral in Pennsylvania and his unwillingness to meet with a children's hospital about Medicaid cuts.

Now, several Democratic lawmakers are livid with him and poised to back a challenger come 2028.

"John Fetterman is a disgrace. Our state deserves better than a lazy trust fund baby who is too lazy to do the job," wrote Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-Pa., in response to the story.

"There is a lot I could say about this report of John Fetterman’s pathetic behavior as a Senator," Rep. Chris Deluzio, D-Pa., said on X. "But between the laziness, disrespect, and willingness to carry water for a foreign government, it shows us something we already know: this man has no sense of duty."

Some left-wing groups, such as MeidasTouch, also reacted negatively to the revelations, calling the WSJ report "absolutely brutal" for Fetterman.

Former Rep. Conor Lamb, D-Pa., also weighed in, saying "John, ... if there is a decent bone left in your body, just quit. It’s an insult to decent people in our state for you to treat them and the office this way."
