Student government at UC Berkeley gave anti-Israel student groups over $8,000: report
Bears for Palestine was reportedly behind a major violent protest in February at an event where a pro-Israel speaker was present.
The University of California, Berkeley's student government reportedly gave anti-Israel student groups more than $8,000 to support their activities.
According to an exclusive report based on records obtained by Campus Reform through a public records request, a group called Bears for Palestine received $6,500 in August of last year. Campus Reform is a conservative watchdog group that is part of the Leadership Institute.
Records obtained by the outlet also show that Graduate Students for Palestine received $1,631.22 in April of this year. The total amount of money by the student government given to these groups adds up to $8,131.

The money given to the group was meant to be used for the 2023 fall semester and for the 2024 spring semester.
Anti-Israel protests sprung up on college campuses across the country following the Oct. 7 attack in Israel where Hamas launched an attack on the Jewish state, resulting in 1,200 people being killed.
Israel has been at war with Hamas since then. Various political leaders have shown support for Israel while others have accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.
