Colorado Republican Sen. Cory Gardner lost his Senate seat to Democrat John Hickenlooper, according to the Associated Press.

Early in the race for the seat, Hickenlooper, a former Colorado governor, was involved in an ethics controversy but ultimately managed to defeat Gardner.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham held onto his Senate seat. Jaime Harrison, former chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party, hit record fundraising totals in the race against Graham but it was not enough to defeat him.

Republican Tommy Tuberville, a retired college football coach, won in the race against Alabama Democratic Sen. Doug Jones, who defeated Judge Roy Moore in 2017 after Sen. Jeff Sessions was named U.S. Attorney General.

Arizona Republican Sen. Martha McSally lost to Democrat Mark Kelly, a NASA astronaut and husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Control of the Senate has yet to be determined. The results of 9 key races have not been called.
