Iowa GOP Rep. Randy Feenstra, who was endorsed by President Trump in the Republican gubernatorial primary Tuesday, has conceded defeat in the race.

He lost to farmer and businessman Zach Lahn, who reportedly had grassroots support from the Make American Health Again (MAHA) movement and Turning Point USA.

With 99% of the votes counted as of 4 a.m. Eastern Time, Lahn had a lead over Feenstra of 1,652 votes

In addition to having Congress on his resume and a fundraising advantage, he was out-performed by Lahn, in part with a resonating, "Iowa first" message, according to Fox News.  The winner of the General Election will replace Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds, who is not seeking a third term.

Lahn also came out ahead of former state Rep. Brad Sherman, former Iowa Department of Administrative Services Director Adam Steen and state Rep. Eddie Andrews.
