Trump's endorsement helps at least five Indiana GOP state Senate candidates defeat incumbents

President Donald Trump's endorsement of eight Republican Indiana state Senate candidates helped at least five challengers defeat the incumbents after the incumbents helped block a redistricting effort in the state.
Trump, in February, issued endorsements of six of the eight challengers, backing Blake Fiechter, Tracey Powell, Paula Copenhaver, Brenda Wilson, Michelle Davis, and Jeff Ellington.
Wilson, who ran against Indiana state Sen. Greg Goode, is the only Trump-backed candidate to lose her race as of time of publishing, according to the New York Times. Copenhaver's race against Spencer Deery was still too close to call.

Republicans currently hold a 7-2 lead among Indiana’s delegation in the House, and the new map was redrawn to have boundaries so that GOP candidates would be favored in all nine districts.
