Watch Live: Michigan Senate candidates spar in first of two debates

Democratic Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and former GOP Rep. Mike Rogers face off one-on-one Thursday night to discuss issues Michigan voters care most about ahead of next month's election for retiring Democratic Sen. Gary Peters' seat.

The debate Thursday is the first of two scheduled Senate debates in the state and the race is considered one of the most closely watched elections of the 2026 midterms. Rogers is hoping to flip the seat for the GOP and fend off progressive El-Sayed.

The debate is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Eastern and can be streamed here.
