Trump withdraws the U.S. from the World Health Organization

Trump signed an executive order Monday that will initiate the U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization. 

The order was expected, according to The New York Times, as Trump had been critical of the W.H.O. since 2020 over its approach to managing the covid pandemic. He had threatened to withhold funding from the organization, but when he lost the 2020 election, the plan was never put in motion.
