Tropical Storm Isaias intensified Monday afternoon and is expected to return to Hurricane strength after sideswiping the Bahamas and Florida before taking aim at the Carolinas.
The National Hurricane Center has now issued a hurricane warning from South Santee River, South Carolina, to Surf City, North Carolina, according to the Associated Press. And a tropical storm warning has been extended along the East Coast as far north as New Hampshire.
The storm is expected to make landfall Monday night. As of the afternoon, Isaias had maximum sustained winds of 70 mph and is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane.
