Erika Kirk to attend State of the Union as Trump's guest
Since her husband's death, Erika Kirk has taken on leadership of Turning Point USA, the nation's large conservative youth outreach organization.
Erika Kirk will attend the State of the Union on Tuesday as the personal guest of President Donald Trump, the Daily Wire reported.
Kirk's husband, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated last September during an open air event at Utah Valley University. His alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, is facing murder charges and the possibility of the death penalty.
Since her husband's death, Erika Kirk has taken on leadership of Turning Point USA, the nation's large conservative youth outreach organization. Her tenure, thus far, has been rocky, with a fierce public battle over the organization's direction on the U.S. relationship with Israel taking center stage.
One of the most prominent personalities who regularly appears at TPUSA functions is Tucker Carlson, who has faced considerable pushback from the pro-Israel right over his skeptical attitude toward war with Iran and his interviews with explicitly anti-Zionist personalities like Nick Fuentes.
Kirk has declined to distance the organization from Carlson, despite calls to do so from prominent Jewish conservatives, such as media provocateur Laura Loomer.
