Fetterman laments rise of Hasan Piker: 'Our base loves him'

A frustrated Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., this week lamented the rise of streamer Hasan Piker to popularity among Democrats, despite his comments comparing America to Al-Qaeda.
Piker is a prominent streamer on Twitch, known primarily for political commentary. He enjoys a considerable following among younger voters and embraces far-left policy positions and candidates. He recently made waves for an interview in which he insisted the U.S. was worse than the terrorist group that orchestrated 9/11.
"He is an individual that just declared that we are worse than Al Qaeda and Democrats are campaigning with him, defending him!" Fetterman complained to Fox News. "And my-- and our base loves him... I can't compete with that."
Fetterman, notably, has been willing to break with Democrats over Israel, as more lawmakers and candidates embrace the Palestinian cause or criticize the Netanyahu government.
Piker, for his part, is a vocal critic of the Israeli government.
