Consumer Price Index increased 0.4% in December, Labor Department

The Consumer Price Index increased 0.4% in December, compared to the previous month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday. 

The CPI for December was 2.9%, compared to the same time last year. 

The annual number was in line with forecasts, according to CNBC.
