Elon Musk becomes first person in history to be worth over $500 billion
Musk, the richest man in the world, is now worth an estimated $150 billion more than the world's second-richest man, Oracle co-founder and chief technology officer Larry Ellison.
Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk on Wednesday became the first person in history to be worth $500 billion, according to Forbes' Real-Time Billionaires tracker.
The accomplishment, which comes less than a year after he became the first person to be worth over $400 billion, occurred after Tesla shares closed with a 4% boost, adding approximately $9.3 billion to Musk’s fortune, Forbes reported.
Musk, the richest man in the world, is now worth an estimated $150 billion more than the world's second-richest man, Oracle co-founder and chief technology officer Larry Ellison.
The wealth increase also comes after Musk stepped away from a prominent role in President Donald Trump's administration in order to refocus on Tesla and his other companies like SpaceX.
Musk has not publicly commented on the achievement so far.
