Grand jury expected to indict Bolton over classified documents: Report

A grand jury is expected to soon indict former national security advisor John Bolton over his alleged use of a private email server to send classified information, the New York Post reported, citing "sources."

The grand jury will convene on Wednesday, though a Department of Justice official told the Post that the agency expects the indictment may not come until Thursday.

The FBI previously raided Bolton's Maryland home in connection with the case. The former Trump official was sacked during the president's first term, largely due to intense foreign policy disputes.

President Donald Trump when he faced an indictment from special counsel Jack Smith over similar allegations. Smith's case did not result in a conviction, and he resigned before Trump returned to the White House.
