Former Vice President Kamala Harris officially endorsed Troy Jackson for Senate in Maine, marking the latest instance of Democrats coalescing behind their replacement of Graham Platner.

Jackson became the official Maine Democratic nominee this week after a short campaign prompted by the withdrawal of Platner, who had been mired in scandal.

Harris threw her support behind him in a fundraising email highlighting the urgency of rallying behind him in the short timeframe of his campaign, The Hill reported.

“Troy will have just 101 days between his nomination for Senate and when voters in Maine will cast their ballots,” she said.

Jackson, like Harris, took over at the top of the Democratic ticket of a major race, with only a few months ahead of the election. Harris famously replaced former President Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket after a disastrous debate with then-former President Donald Trump.
