Nestle announces plans to eliminate artificial food colorings from products worldwide by end of 2026

Nestle plans to remove artificial food colorings from its products by the end of 2026. 

The company has been facing mounting pressure from those who believe the colorings are unhealthy, Reuters reported. Investors were becoming increasingly concerned that packaged food companies could lose customers as they shift toward what they believe are healthier foods. 

Stefan Palzer, Nestle's technology ​chief, told Reuters that Nestle has spent years investing in the transition. 

"We did it because consumers don't appreciate artificial ​ingredients. They ⁠want simpler recipes," he said. 

Nestle had already eliminated the additives from products sold in the U.S., and Tuesday's announcement extends the practice globally.
