Pope Francis hospitalized with a respiratory tract infection, has mild fever
The pope's health has forced him to cancel his scheduled events through Monday.
Pope Francis was hospitalized Friday with a mild fever and a respiratory tract infection, according to the Vatican.
His health has forced him to cancel his scheduled events through Monday.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said that the pope is in "good spirits" amid the health issues, according to The Associated Press.
Francis was diagnosed with bronchitis on Feb. 6 but still presided at an outdoor Mass over the weekend.
Francis has had his share of health problems since having one of his lungs removed as a young man and often uses a walker and a wheel chair.
He was also hospitalized in 2023 after having chest pain and a fever.
