Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is reportedly considering removing the COVID-19 vaccination from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recommended vaccine schedule for children.

The possible change was reported Tuesday by news outlet Politico, based on sources. 

States and localities decide which vaccines are required for schools, and all 50 states have medical exemptions for vaccines.

Kennedy has questioned whether children need to get the vaccine, citing that kids are very unlikely to die from the disease. 

Others have concerns about the possible side effects of the vaccine.
